The difference between an English and a Spanish Bluebell…..
The English Bluebell on the left is native to the UK while the Spanish Bluebell, on the right, is a non-native species with widespread distribution over much of the UK and is thought to have been accidently introduced to the wild from private gardens.
The main difference is that the English Bluebell’s flowers on one side of the stem, causing them to bend over whereas the Spanish Bluebell has flowers all around the stem.
Long live the English Bluebell !!
