7.45am – Sunrise over our first frost – in Tetbury – rather late this year – 23rd November 2011 !
11.55am – As it wasn’t foggy and the road was dry I thought I’d take a ride out on the motorbike.
1:15pm – In the interest of research, I thought I’d pop in to the roadside pub at Slad, once frequented by the British Author, Laurie Lee who wrote the novel “Cider with Rosie” about life in the rural Cotswolds in the first world war! The Woolpack is a REAL pub…..sadly a increasingly unusual experience – you get a very friendly reception, no piped music, no gambling machines and no food in the bar – the excellent menu can be consumed in the adjacent rooms. The only noise is the animated discussion of men of a certain age discussing lawn mowers, football and the world in general.
