Gladys the dog and her master….moi, Rob Little Photographer / Guide took a stroll through Angrove Wood new Malmesbury to take a peek at the Bluebells which, actually, are not particularly striking this year – or not yet anyway. Its a beautiful walk and a “secret place” to divert to on a Cotswold Tour.
I snapped this yesterday, Tuesday, while driving through the Cotswold Water Park….the cherry blossom and daffodils look so nice together?
I saw these little fellas a week or so ago…..I’m saying nothing….they look soooo cute……(as well as tasting nice)….oh da*n why DID I say that !
…..a beautiful evening….waiting for a volcanic ash sunset !
I happened across the totally unique “North Meadow” near Cricklade, Wiltshire on my way home this afternoon.
This water meadow on the far upper reaches of the River Thames is a National Nature Reserve – with its “Snakes Head” Fritillaries out in flower. This nationally scarce wild flower would once have been seen over many of the lowland hay meadows across the British Isles. They have diminished because of various forms of land improvement such as drainage and fertilizer application.
But today is special in another way…reminiscent of those days hundreds of years ago when the fritillarys were abundant in the meadow. Not a single cloud in the sky. Not a single aircraft trail. Not a sound from the sky on what is one of the busiest air corridors in the world. Scary but unique. In fact, other than birds….a silent glider is the only thing in the sky.
Lets hope you guys can soon get over here or else you will be miserable and I will be broke !
