Back in the USSA…..

There was some talk of socialist Venezuela by The President a few days ago and today America is living it!

The jibes about socialised this and that in the UK have, this morning, come to pass in the United States with trillions of dollars being plucked out of thin air and awarded to the populous whether they need it or not, as well as bailing out private industry and the private health system – in effect, a form of Nationalisation.

And earlier this week the American Central Bank they had “Unlimited Money” with absolutely no cap on “Quantitative Easing”. In other words as much money as is needed will be printed by the government.

This of course is only a temporary fix and while it may well help in the short term but there is No such thing as a “Free Lunch” !

Any suggestion of gloating in these words is honestly unintended. Rather I am addressing the irony of the proposition from many across the pond, that “Socialism” is the “big evil” when plainly – at the moment at least – it is not! I’m certain Congress has arrived at the only decision possible. Lets hope we have all learned from this.

Incidentally I am most certainly not a socialist but strongly defend most of the socialised infrastructure in the UK and most other First World countries – by far the most impressive being our utterly amazing National Health Service! I will be standing on my doorstep at 8pm this evening to applaud our NHS!
