Friday Lunch Club migrated to Thursday this week…..

Due to some attendances Mother and I needed to make at the local Doctor’s surgery, we decided to migrate the Friday Lunch Club to Thursday this week and I elected to take Mother to the Falcon Steak pub in Wotton-under-Edge !

When we got there we found all the parking was taken and the only option was to park on a very steep hill which would have been a bit of a walk for mother, but the thought of steak must have given her a “second wind” and she walked up the hill, I must say, almost briskly in anticipation.

So we were looking at the menu…..12oz sirloin, 16oz Tbone, 20oz rump…..and more including a 32oz Tbone and a 50oz rump – the latter two being challenges. If you eat either the enormous rump or the 32oz Tbone, you get to have your name on the wall. Mother said the she would pay and that she was “suggesting” I had the 10oz Ribeye ! So that was my thoughts of gluttony postponed for another day !

I did ask what was involved in the 50oz Rump and the guy said in order to qualify to be added to the wall, not just the rump had to be consumed in its entirety (and its quite chewy so the jaw muscles would be in agony) but you also had to eat the portion of fries and two side dishes as well !

Even I think I could not manage it…..
Lets Tour England !

Those who have managed the 50oz Rump

And those who only had to eat the 32 oz Tbone !
