Cathy Newman, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, hang your heads in shame……

Cathy Newman, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, hang your heads in shame…… Channel 4 news is supposed to be a serious news programme but they have joined the rest of the media, whipping up those poor people who lost family, friends, everything in the Grenfell Tower fire, encouraging the direction of their anger towards Theresa May who is damned if she visits the site and damned if she doesn’t. The people are saying nothing is being done to find those who are lost but, sadly, they must face the reality that they have perished in the fire, and there will be little left to find. Without exacting tests of the remains it is impossible to determine the identity of those poor souls and, of course, that will take time.

We do not want the press exploiting grief of bereaved residents, by encouraging the pillorying of Theresa May or anyone else. It is not her fault. It is undignified and tasteless for anyone – including the rent-a-mob “socialist workers party” crowd that hijack just about any demo going – to march around London hurling insults.

We do need to get to the bottom of what happened and quickly. The police should consider criminal proceedings. Those people living in high rise apartment blocks with no sprinkler systems and potentially flammable materials stuck to the outside of their buildings cannot be sleeping easily in their beds tonight. But shouting and screaming and turning the tragedy into a political protest, fanned by Channel 4 and the other media, is disgusting. Cathy Newman’s relentless haranguing of Guy Opperman, the MP newly appointed to the “Work and Pensions” brief was wholly inappropriate and downright over the top.

The bereaved need our moral and financial support and the Public throughout the country have been resolute in their generosity to the people lost their homes

Let’s here no more from the siren voices of the egotistical journalists looking to prematurely point blame.
