Easter Sunday and the first gathering of the North Wiltshire Chapter of the moped hooligans this year…..our aim to suffocate cyclists !!

Easter Sunday and the first gathering of the North Wiltshire Chapter of the moped hooligans…..

With the secret rendezvous was revealed to be The Red Bull pub, outside Malmesbury, at least 16 of us turned up ready to blast through the Wiltshire and Gloucestershire Cotswold villages, blue smoke from our tiny, ancient two stroke machines enveloping the sweet fragrance of the spring flowers and suffocating cyclists…..generally looking for trouble !

It was terribly sad to think we had lost one of our number, Terry Edmonds, age 77 from Bristol who passed away in February. It was only last autumn that he was with us on the same route that we did today. Terry was a real laugh – always teasing and telling jokes. Someone recanted today how he asked one of the members to check his indicators to see if they were working properley. When told they were, Terry said “Thats strange, someone in a car gestured at me, pointing and shouting You WINKER” – Ha ha thats how he will be remembered ! RIP Terry Edmonds.

Today’s route can mostly be followed on Google Street View just click on the blue text.
